Appraiser
We are currently seeking to add an Appraiser to our team. The successful candidate will be focused on a career in valuation, looking to develop skills in a specific valuation niche, namely the appraisal of construction, machinery and equipment for insurance purposes.
Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing accurate and reliable appraisal reports commensurate with experience level;
- Undertaking research to maintain and upgrade Company valuation data;
- Develop relationships with clients, data providers and other partners;
- Working with colleagues to support and be supported in the completion of appraisal assignments;
- Continuously improve their knowledge regarding cost, market and valuation trends;
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Valuation experience and / or training from the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC), American Society of Appraisers (ASA) or similar recognized body is preferred, but not essential;
- In the absence of valuation experience / training, a background in construction, engineering or the trades is an asset;
- Superior information system skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access);
- Experience with AutoCAD or SketchUp is an asset;
- Well-developed organizational, time management and project management skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work under tight timelines;
- Superior attention to detail;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- The ability to develop relationships and work well with internal and external partners;
- Valid BC Driver’s License;
- Flexibility to travel.
